Say, Speak, Talk, Tell – I like this resource.

This evening, while tutoring one of my best Russian students after a great conversation about budgeting and enjoying life, I reviewed a stumbling block that many English-as-a-Second-Language learners encounter – even advanced students: The differences between SAY-TELL-SPEAK-TALK.

Well, I have found a few resources that may help. I will continue to look for more, but here you are:

English Club: http://www.englishclub.com/vocabulary/cw-say-tell.htm

Kerlynb on Hub Pages: http://kerlynb.hubpages.com/hub/Talk-Speak-Tell-Say-Common-Mistakes-in-English-as-a-Second-Language-ESL

Tell me if they helped!

A Very Busy Week!

Hello!

We have been very busy this week, with private students preparing for business presentations and exams, group lessons and written reviews through Livemocha, and lots of activity in the international arena through LinkedIn. We have even had some personal excitement – trying to bring even more international flavor to Denver – with the launch on Indiegogo of our family business, St. Louis Bistro at http://igg.me/p/277285 . (Visit now and join in the excitement.)

On the World English front: Please feel welcome to ring in the New Year and begin expanding your world through language and culture. I’m looking forward to a great New Year with lots of topics related to language and culture, storytelling and tradition, business and beyond.

Beginners welcome!
